The tradition behind the name<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In many African communities, children were known through their mothers. It was a simple thing, but it held a great deal: a name told you where someone belonged, and who they belonged to. Identity was kept close, carried forward in the way people were called.<\/p>

Tangabula was built from that idea. Two names joined into one word, mother and daughter held together.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

What started as a love of beautiful African fashion grew into something quieter and more deliberate. Not a seasonal business, but something lasting. Something a daughter could look at one day and recognize as her own.<\/p>

That intention still shapes every decision we make. We work slowly, in small numbers, and we choose the harder path when it makes a better garment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Contemporary African fashion and accessories, designed for women who dress with intention.<\/p>

Boubous, kaftans, kimonos, matching sets, and tailored separates, alongside a jewelry collection made to be worn with them. Our pieces are cut from traditional and contemporary African textiles and other carefully selected fabrics, chosen for how they feel and how they age rather than how loudly they announce themselves. They are made to move easily between ordinary days and rare ones and to hold heritage lightly, without asking you to choose between culture and ease.<\/p>
